Christian "Seaweed" Baez 281E

What is your name, activation number, and pledge semester?
Christian "Seaweed" Baez 281E, Fall '08

What is your favorite man law?

I'm not really into that sort of stuff.. I think they're funny, just not something I would base my life by.

How did you become a Christian?
I grew up in a Catholic background with an unstable family, where I did
the whole Catholic shaboom rituals. As time went by, I learned from
personal experience that my family was not perfect, and that the only
way to solve issues was to get in a fight that consisted of verbal and
physical abuse. Bouncing off from Catholicism and Christianity ever
since I was a child, yet never learning anything, I decided to turn my
back on God at the age of 16. I chose to live life my own way because I
never found that love and satisfaction that I thought I could get from
home and church. After experiencing two full years of lust, lies, and
physical attention from the wrong people, I realized that the hole
inside of me that I longed to fill still felt empty, so I sought for
something better: a relationship with God. He gave me the love and joy I
never had, and brought me to a whole new world I thought didn't exist.

What did God teach you this summer?
He taught me to humble myself and do everything for His glory, not for
my own praise. He taught me that there is more than one way to love
others, and help them become a better person for Him. He taught me the
value of accountability, and to not take anything for granted. But most
importantly, He taught me of the great and unconditional love He has for
me, and nothing can be better than that.

When you were little, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A famous Hollywood actor.

What is your greatest strength?
I don't know.. Usually I'm not the one to tell myself what I'm good at..
Haha I guess I would say listening to people and understanding where
they come from and why they think the way they do. I love connecting
with people.

Favorite Bible verse(s)
1 Corinthians 13:4-7
John 15:16-17
What do you look forward to most in the semester?
Spending more quality time with my 15 AMAZING pledge bros, and keep
learning the good ways from my Big Bro.

What are your personal goals for this semester?
To abide in God and strengthen my faith with Him, and understand that
everything He does, He does it to build us stronger.

If you could a be a bug, what kind would you be?
I dislike bugs.

Batman or Spider-man?
I would rather go with Superman because of his ridiculously stylish
hair-do, but being that he's not one of the options, I would have to say
Spider-man. That guy's been through some major family and personal
down-falls, yet has come through. Yes, he's had weaknesses and failures
throughout his battle with evil, but he has learned and grown from his
mistakes. Props to him.

Would you rather be steam-rolled feet first or put into a wood chipper feet first, and why?
Ouch! I would say steam-rolled because the pressure would eventually
numb me from all the pain, but then it would only get nasty from then
on. I would rather not be found in such situation, instead I would much
rather find myself with the people I love the most. Corny, I know.
